At Madrasatun Noor we strive to provide a extensive study of the deen both theoretical and practical to our children with immense focus on developing and strengthening the young muslims/muslimahs character.
For this we require a commitment and communication between our teachers and the parents so maximum potential is being extracted from the children.
Below we give a basic outline of how we structured our courses to ensure every child receives a maximum benefit.
Tarbiyyah.
Our aim with every student is we want to instil rich Islamic morals as-well as a love for Allah and the messenger which will develop a keenness in performing Ibaadat that will last a lifetime into our children. We aim to reach this goal this by focusing on practicality from the exemplary lives of the Prophets and their companions and also hearing about the achievements of latter day Muslim role both past and present.
Qur’aan & Tajweed
We at Madrasatun Noor regard ourselves as the lovers of Qur’an, which is evident from our courses. We believe it is a primary requirement for a Muslim to become familiarised with the Book of Allah, the Quran.
Our teachers aim to take each child through the journey of learning how to correctly read the Quran with tajweed and confidently. We have formed a structure based on a variety of curriculum. We implement a 4 progressional stages to ensure this.
Level 1 : An extensive study of our chosen Qaida published by the safar team which is a 160 pages of rules and practices. Once completed students have a good skill in recognising Arabic words with the right pronunciation.
Level 2: A study of Juz Amma which ensures the students are building on their fluency as-well as applying the basic rules of Tajweed.
Level 3: A gradual build up of Quran Recitation increasing the amount as the student progresses.
Level 4 : A continuation of Quran Recitation and a focus on Surah memorisation and an introduction to Hifz of the holy Quran so the student may pursue it if he/she wishes it.
Islamic Studies.
Aqidah – From the 99 names of Allah to understanding the philosophical aspect of Allahs existence, our aim is to equip our children with the correct belief in both practise and theory so they may be saved from the fitna of disbelief we find ourselves surrounded by today. We start from learning about Allah and gradually progress to a more intellectual argument as they grow in age.
Fiqh – Practical and theoretical. We aim to ensure our children adhere to the right way of worship and other islamic legal matters. We deliver our Fiqh classes to children tailored to their age group and have a monthly practical session to see if they are implementing what they are being taught.
History– Our aim is to create an inspiration and motivation within the hearts of the children, primarily through the exemplary life of our Prophets. We also deliver life stories of the scholars and other noteworthy Muslims from the past to aid in creating that inspiration.
Dua – We aim for our students to practice the prophetic supplications at all times. We have a dedicated time every week studying the book A childs gift to ensure the duas are memorised and have project base work for the 10+ kids to ensure they are practising these duas at home.
Hifz – We already know the high status in Islam for those who memorise the Qur’an. At Madrasatun Noor, we believe students with the zeal and potential to memorise the Qur’an should be instructed with utmost care and attention by experienced and qualified teachers. To facilitate this we have longer class times and limit the number of students in each class, ensuring the teacher is able to give maximum time and focus to each and every child.
Safeguarding – We believe every child is entitled to a fair education and no child should be treated any different to the rest. We ensure all our teachers, staff and volunteers (Anybody who will have contact with children) to undergo an Enhanced DBS check as well as a rigorous reference before commencing any work with the children to ensure we are familiar with who is teaching our children.
